Your role as Financial Controller

As our Financial Controller, you’ll play a central role in managing and improving our financial operations. From delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance, to forecasting cash flows and supporting strategic decisions—you’ll be the financial backbone of a fast-moving company in the renewable energy space. You’ll work closely with our Operations Team and CEO, taking ownership of accounting processes while contributing to the company’s long-term success.

Your responsibilities

  • Execute accurate and timely month-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in compliance with GAAP.

  • Review financial performance, trends, and benchmarks, and present insights clearly to internal stakeholders.

  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, credit insurers, and factoring partners.

  • Support the Management Team with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on actuals versus budget.

  • Perform cash flow analysis and develop accurate financial forecasts.

  • Prepare for audits, including posting relevant journal entries and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Oversee daily accounting operations performed by other team members and serve as the go-to person for finance-related queries.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to ensure data integrity and financial compliance.

Your competencies

  • Professional proficiency in both English and Dutch (spoken and written).

  • A bachelor’s degree (HBO or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar financial or controlling role.

  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • A passion for renewable energy and a desire to contribute to a more sustainable world.
